On 9 August annually, South Africa commemorates the strength, determination and courage of the 20,000+ brave women who marched to the Union Buildings in 1956 to protest the country's pass laws. These women took the initiative and responsibility to change the status quo, to say NO to an oppressive existence and to utter the famous words of
Wathint 'Abafazi Wathint 'Imbokodo. Directly, this is translated as Now that you have touched the women, you have struck a rock, or the more recent adaptation of...
YOU STRIKE A WOMAN, YOU STRIKE A ROCK!

They were part of the countless men and women in history whom we owe our freedom to. They sacrificed for us to have a great nation, and it is now our responsibility to help build this great nation.

If you know me, you would know that I am extremely passionate about women's development, so I am going to be doing something very special this weekend in commemoration of this great event, and to honour you, my loyal readers. I also feel really blessed at the success of my Facebook page since it was launched not too long ago, and I would like to give something back.

I am giving away 3 autographed copies of Empowered, the personal development book that I am a co-author of. If you do not know what it is about, a small description can be found here and in other places on my website. It is not a how-to book, and neither is it a self-help book, but rather it is a collection of short stories that can each stand alone to inspire you, motivate you and give you hope when you need some help believing in the world.

Oh, and it just happens to be an international best-seller as well!

So, here's how you can stand a chance to win your copy:

1 - Like my official page on Facebook at "Rogeema Kenny"

2 - Comment either on this blog post in the comments section OR on the FB post announcing the giveaway telling me why you would like to win the book.

Doing the above will give you one entry into the draw.
For bonus entries, you may do the following. Each action will give you another entry into the draw, and another chance to win.

 a) Share the giveaway announcement Facebook post from the Rogeema Kenny official page
 b) Tag a friend or friends that you would like to enter and win in the post as well (because we believe in lifting each other up)
 c) Commenting on the Facebook post as well as this blog post (this will give you 2 entries)

I will select 1 winner as the best comment on why she wants to win, and the other 2 winners will be selected via lucky draw.

Ok so now we get to the bad news...
Sorry guys, this special competition is only for the ladies. You know I love you as well, but you might get chance to enter future competitions :) You can, however, like the page and tag your special ladies in the posts to give them a heads up to enter.
